What Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA)?
ABA is a science that involves principles which have been empirically (experimentally) proven to modify behaviors. By assessing the relationship between a targeted behavior (behavior you want to change) and the environment, the methods of ABA can be used to change that behavior. All interventions used in our program are empirically based which means there is strong research behind each intervention that proves its effectiveness.
ABA-based interventions are best known for treating people with developmental disabilities, most notably autism spectrum disorders. However, applied behavior analysis contributes to a full range of areas including: treating phobias, teaching new skills, reducing problem behaviors, increasing health and safety, modifying parenting techniques, dealing with compulsive or repetitive behaviors, improving language and quality of life.
