SETSS: GENERAL INFORMATION
Special Education Teacher Support Services (SETSS) are provided to children 5 years of age and older. Our service area covers the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, and Staten Island. We accept referrals from school districts, and work with families who receive services which are the result of due process. We also provide other services which are the result of due process including Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Counseling.
Special Education Teacher Support Services can be provided at home or in the school setting. Each of our Special Educators holds the appropriate certification and license required to work with the students. Our Special Education Coordinators have years of experience making a match between teacher and student, and they love helping families understand the service and referral process.
SETSS: PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The SETSS program helps a broad variety of student, and learning characteristics. Children we help receive support for academic areas of English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, and offer help with standard curriculum, other students require a much greater level of support, utilizing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. We have Clinical Coordinators available for any ABA mandate. In addition, we provide Parent Training, Facilitate Team Meetings and Individualize Instruction.
Our older students (8-21) may also be eligible to receive Transition Services when they receive SETSS from NYTPS, Inc. We understand that it's very important to plan for their eventual graduation, and Post-Secondary goals. This enhanced service helps families navigate the field of Special Education, providing linkage and referral to outside agencies, as well as assessment, and development of appropriate goals for the student! As part of an effort to expand the SETSS program, Special Education Tutors, for ELA, Math and other subject areas will be available soon!
